I got this Altitude/Airspeed Indicator at an auction recently and later found out it was from a Waller Gunnery Trainer
used to train WW2 aerial gunners. Seventy-five gunnery trainers were contracted by the US Navy and British Admiralty. The trainer/simulator was invented by Fred Waller who later invented the Cinerama film format. The simulator was responsible for vastly improving the accuracy of WW2 gunners without exposing them to the risks of actual aerial combat. It is regarded as one of the first precursors to the concept of "virtual reality". It is dated 1942 and manufactured by the Vitarama Corp. I was wondering if anybody else has come across pieces from the trainer?
