Well it’s just spectacular Ev!!!!

 

WoW! so many great finds! I haven't even looked in on this thread for a long time so I get to see lots of great stuff! Found 2 of these Midwest Stocking Hangers for a buck each

 

Loads of green and silver this week, all charity shop finds, and one thing from the tip always produces a bag of interesting finds

A little over 100 old glass slides. These were made for theater presentations before movies became the only format.

A lot of desert southwest scenery. Many old street scenes. A group of a railroad trip. About 20 color, maybe in Japan. A bunch of old Navy ships. Many around the shore near San Diego. Maybe some of the first Oakies arriving in California. Fun stuff.

Saw the local coin shop had some Silver Dollars for $15 each so I decided to get a few. Melt is currently $13.18 so little downside risk.

 

I really haven't been buying much lately. I did pick up a few items in the past week or so. All of them from Ebay.

The first thing I picked up was this miniature Siphon. The seller listed it as a Perfume siphon. I have no idea if that is indeed what it is, but I figured it would go good with the Czech Glass Perfumes the Mrs. has.



The next item I got was a Perfume atomizer. I plan to take part of the hardware and use it on the Loetz Atomizer I got from Bulldogs. I'll use this as a placeholder of sorts until I can find something period correct.



I had been looking for a perfume funnel (again to go with the Perfumes the Mrs already has. I had found a couple that I liked (I even found a Sterling Tiffany one but the Seller and I had Ebay issues and I couldn't buy it) So, I stumbled across this set of bottles and funnels and thought Glass funnels would go great with glass perfumes.

So many 'finds' lately ... they won't all fit in one post. Here are most of my Christmas-y ones ... I just love it when the stores put a bunch of items in a large plastic bag and price it for just a couple of dollars.

and a house with some age with a crepe-paper Santa out front ... It looks as if the trees were later add-ons as was the sheet of cardboard that they are all glued to.

Not in a bag ... but recognized from a post on the Antiquers forum!

Not in a bag ... Santa is a bit creepy, but it is signed by someone who who I think was associated with Bethany Lowe designs.

Ooops .... I forgot ... This old dinner plate that isn't 'technically' a Christmas item, but I plan on decorating with it as if it were. I believe it's called Adams Rose.

 

Love all the little things in the first group, but that plate Wow!

 

What a haul on the Christmas, Quirkygirl.

The V. Smyers (Vickie Smyers) definitely has resale value. Several (but not this exact one) are on Ebay, many sold. Seems to be some interest in the "retired" versions. I noticed that none of the Ebay ones I saw seem to be signed on the base. If you do sell, make a note of that. Maybe this was a privately done display or something? I think has a great look -- not so creepy.

Also, the paper house -- please rule out that this isn't an antique. It looks vintage from the photo, but there were a lot of older paper German ornaments and decor that are very collectible, not really an expert on that kind of thing, but some are worth researching. I think @cxgirl knows this stuff.

Great finds! The Christmas trees in your second photograph remind me of the trees on a Dept. 56 animated Skating Pond I sold a few years ago.

 

Uh oh ... I did it again - huge bag. Haven't even opened the bag yet - just got home ... they're not really old (or I should say, from what I can see, they don't appear to be too old) ... mostly wood, fabric, and natural materials ... nothing with much value that I can see - most look nice and lightweight, which would be perfect for one of my little trees - if I keep them. The two in front were from the 50¢ box. A little MIJ pinecine elf standing on silk cocoons and a pretty wee little Steinböck enameled plate. I really can't wait to show you the jewelry I found today
