Nice tray, Kavinda. Yes, it is Indian, and you've got the period right. You don't need us.;)

Not really experts, just a group of people who have spent a lot of time appreciating, collecting and researching antiques and art. And loving it, of course.

Nice tray, I’ve collected several but haven’t progressed much from my inability to determine age/origin. I’d post pix of one or two but the old-timers here have probably seen them, and I don’t want to appear as if I’m crashing your party. But if you insist...

Spring, the 'mosque tray' is beautiful, I love it. It falls in the rather broad category of Damascus ware, probably made in Syria or Iraq.
The 'tomb tray' is Egyptian Revival. Well made, probably made in Egypt itself, but obviously for non-Egyptians. In spite of the Egyptian antiquity theme, I see Berber influence in some of the details, like the fish and bird motifs. The hieroglyphs are nonsense, of course.

Nice trays, especially the egyptian hieroglyphics one.. hope you were able to find out the age of those.. most of these engraved brass trays are middle eastern and late 19th C. I suppose.

Oh noooo! I had my fortune-teller, Madam Zohre (she’s Persian) translate it. It has words to the effect: “He who possesses this shall enjoy very long life, prosperity, tolerable family life, heavy machines and nice cats.”
