If there were any good cameos around to spot. We're bemoaning it in the Show & Tell thread.

Don't worry. I buy lots of stuff from them and when I redonate it, they quadruple the price and it flies off the shelf.

This bracelet has a similar design. They call the stones carnelian. This is what they said about the bracelet.
"This wonderful rare bracelet was made by Georg Jensen and is one of the earliest designs which was originally produced in 1905. This piece bears hallmarks dating it to 1933 to 1944, and this particular design is no longer in production. The bracelet has a wearable length of 7 1/4" x 5/8" wide and is made from sterling silver with carnelian stones. It is in excellent condition and is hallmarked "925 Sterling Denmark 3" with the GJ logo.

They may say it, but the stones don't look like carnelian. It's not as though garnet is so expensive they wouldn't use it in silver jewellery.

I see that now. Thank you. I was so intrigued by it, when I went to try it on.

The mark on your necklace was used 1910-1925, so early 20th century is correct.

I'm curious about the funny shaped impression following the Jensen marks. Doesn't looks like it has anything inside?

Jensen used a variety of semi-precious stones, I have some old Jensen catalogs, including one on jewelry, as well as reference books, might be able give a bit more info, but wil be later tonight or tomorrow - in the meantime, will work hard to swallow my envy (it's a great old piece!)...

Yes. I was surprised too, as carnelian has a warm brown tone, at least what I've seen.

That would be so lovely, if you could help. It's due to reading all your posts that I knew to grab it up. So you will be with me in spirit, when I wear it.

The color of carnelian varies even when it comes out of the same 60 foot diameter hole.

Great. I love those dates very much. The mark is incredibly tiny and dirty. Actually, the whole piece was grimy. Right now, it's just dark and I don't know how to clean it out without possibly damaging the silver. Any ideas?

It does, for sure, right on into sard. It may be lighting and/or setting, but stones in Kiko's necklace look a shade of red rather than orange, edging toward blue & away from yellow. I can't entirely rule out carnelian; just observing from photo provided that it looks like garnet to me. I'm seeing this design set with a variety of materials.
