    Oh, I just sent this message to Houseful, after she very kindly offered me first pick (which I didn't need, I am very happy with things as they are :))

    "A little info on your pendant, it is early German Art Deco. I hadn't seen inh's first thread about it, so I never replied, but I know the style. I believe that specific style originated with a Berlin maker, but I don't know if he was the only one who made them or if others followed."

    I'm sure it will take a while! By the way, I just used my gem tester on the stone in the one you sent. It jumped way above glass, into the quartz-amethyst-citrine category. Past quartz, and between amethyst and citrine. I was surprised, since many of the stones in my pieces of costume jewelry test as glass. I am going to investigate whether it could be a citrine.

    Just read that much citrine on the market today is actually heat-treated amethyst or other types of quartz. Amethyst is my birthstone, so that would be nice as well. This wouldn't be very valuable, but I like that it is natural mineral or stone instead of glass.

    My gorgeous brooch arrived a couple of days ago, and I am so happy. Thank you so much, inh.:kiss:
    I told inh in a pm when it arrived, but didn't post it here, I haven't been up to much forum activity lately.
    The beauty of the brooch is a very welcome distraction though, and even more welcome because it came from such a lovely person.:happy:

    Now, I must check with the post office on Houseful’s package. Tracking hasn’t been updated since Nov. 25 when it departed San Francisco International. :rage:
