Help needed with art pottery mark

    Does anyone recognize this mark, on the base of an art pottery vase? I can make out “original” at the top and “Canada” at the bottom, but can’t identify the maker’s name in the middle. Looks like it ends in”stam” or “stah”?

    IORIG NHL (or NAL). STAHL (as John has said) and CANADA
    at least, that’s what I see.....
