The item dimensions are: 1.35m length by 40cm width

I think it's Gaúcha origin.

It looks like old leather, and looks like a pouch.

Did you get it from Brazil? I have seen leather pouches of that shape hung from a gaucho belt. But this one doesn't seem to have a leather loop at the back to slip onto a belt. Is it big enough to be strapped around the waist? Could you give us the dimensions please?

I think it's made of leather yes. I think this is to big for a pouch and doesn't have any place to save items.

I know it is difficult to get a good photo of something like this, but could you post one where the design is more visible? If you avoid direct light on the item, it avoids some of the sheen. So a well lit place, but no direct light on the item.

 

Just about the size of a banner of sorts.

 

I can't help but I did lighten the photographs. That may help the others see the design better.

I'm unsure why this thread in particular caught my attention enough to "google".

 

Because it is an intriguing item maybe?
The designs and faded colours are beautiful, and the leather is clearly old.

 

Perhaps that is the reason!!
