Hi everyone, I am so confused!! Just when I thought I knew what I was doing, HAHA. I picked this piece up the other day, nice piece of pop art. However, I see dots, I see what I believe to be watercolor strokes, and I see a shiny coat of something on parts of this piece. Is this what you call a Giclee ? A print with actual like, touch up brush strokes by the artist? I am so confused. This piece looks like a mix of everything!! I have followed the regulars on this board and have learned a lot, but this piece has me really scratching my head. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank You IMG_2145.jpg IMG_2151.jpg IMG_2150.jpg IMG_2149.jpg IMG_2147.jpg IMG_2146.jpg

Looks like a print on fabric? Is it done on fabric? I see a small texture of fabric. It sort of looks like a silkscreen that perhaps the artist embellished with paint?

I wonder if it is the actual silk of the screen itself? :cat:

Sometimes artists will do hand embellished prints, so they will take a print (dots) and then hand paint onto of that, thus the brush strokes.

The artist has quite a social media presence. I'd suspect she'd be happy to answer a query.

I don't see fabric, guess I should remove from frame to get some more information. Thanks

I think I can see small and tight fabric weave grain in several places.

Just a quick note here. I sent the artist an email, she responded, qoute "That is an old one. Maybe 2003? It looks like a print, I used tissue paper, acrylics and paper collage for the original but tissue paper is light sensitive so it would have faded if it was an original" end qoute.

So it's either a print or faded mixed media original.

Handy art term. Specifically your work would be a collage (if it's not a print of one.) The first collage, a 1912 work of Picasso.
