    Hello folks,

Any Advice On Collecting Tobacco Tins? I've started collecting them a bit and was wondering if any of our members had any advice on learning about the various companies, online sites/resources, and pricing.

    Thanks,
    Joe2007

I see a British one there, Erinmore. To find British ones vist an old British shed. They were used in huge numbers to store nuts and bolts, and all manner of odd things that may come in useful someday. Many would need a paper label with 1/4 BSF and similar, soaking off.
However, since they have not been used for about the last 60 years you'd probably need about a third generation undisturbed shed.
I know nothing about American ones but a useful guide to makers may be found in publications directed at tobacco card collectors.
Your US examples look like an attractive and possibly reasonably inexpensive field to collect.

books get outdated too fast , i like to use ebay to judge prices as these are old prices 1998/2000 .

    Hi,
Have looked at price guides for years. I made my own prices on what I paid for them NOT book values. That is why I sold my Fiesta turquoise cream soup and cover for 7 dollars in stead of 6000 dollars. Of course I only paid 25 cents for it.:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops: I sold my other one for 2300 dollars because it had a small flake on the bottom rim. Of course I thought I could get another one for 12 to 15 dollars.:eek::eek::eek:

as for advice on tobacco tins i would say , like anything else price is relevant to it's condition, rarity, and what the market will do . always try to collect the finest condition you can.
