Hi all! I have this Asian blue and white bowl with a blue mark. I have scanned a couple of websites, but didn't see this particular mark and truthfully, I'm not sure which way it goes. Any/all help would be greatly appreciated as this is completely out of my wheelhouse so to speak. The bowl measures 7-3/4" x 1-3/4". DSC04101a.JPG DSC04103a.JPG DSC04104a.JPG

Second pic is the signature right way up, sorry not sure who made it. Perhaps post a pic of the entire back?

Blooey, how can you tell that is a signature? To my untrained eye, it looks like a bug crawled across the plate.

You know, I think I was mistaken - I too, now see the bug trail :wideyed::blackeye:

You have to keep in mind though I just had a cataract op so maybe that's why .... :panda::nurse::wacky:

Have you tried looking in Gotheborg. This is a place where they catalog Asian porcelain marks through pictures of real pieces. Mark sure you look the modern section. I'm not an expert so this is where I look. https://gotheborg.com/

Yes, I did, but didn't see it (hope I didn't miss it).

I've seen some modern stylistic marks like that in the modern Japanese section. Usually it goes quicker if you realize that the colors are generally true to form.

I hope you find it. :) I live near the beach, but am no longer a girl. Here's to sand in your toes.

Deleted. I know I've seen this mark before, but I need to hunt for it.

The bottom part looks like the Matsumine kiln mark (see below), but I'm not convinced about the rest of the mark. Sometimes you can see the similarity even if it's written a bit differently, but I can't tell for sure. Going to look some more.

Ok, I give up. Sorry, I know I've seen this mark; I can't believe I can't find it.

I just realized that the figures on the bowl look Chinese, and I've been looking at Japanese marks. I'm confused; I definitely thought it was a japanese mark.

I am so out of practice on looking at marks. I need to brush up on it before I jump into these threads.

<--- Seeing myself out now that I've babbled on too long. :)

It was imported(?) by Sadek. Here's the pattern on Replacements, LINK. Here's what look likes your mark with a Sadek sticker, LINK.
