    Hi,
It was taken indoors. The plants are real but the backdrop is manmade.

I was thinking more like wicker splinters, not in the face.

I've been hoping to get some kind of 1962 Seattle World's Fair souvenir since I moved here in 2005. Finally got a good one this morning at an absolutely packed estate sale. A 5inch sterling spoon made by the local firm of Joseph Mayer and Bros. The light here is lousy for silver pictures today (plus I discovered that my camera was almost out of juice) so I looked on ebay for other examples with decent pictures of the details (it's really cool how many attractions they fit onto the front and back of the handle.)

Here's one (a current listing, not mine.) Prices seemed to range between $25 and $45. Mine was $10, no tax, no shipping. :)

Not really that obsessed. Wanted something special and this certainly qualified.

Neat find Bakers. I had a blast as a kid at The Worlds Fair in NY.
Wish we had gone there more than once or twice but money was tight.

I sold a butter dish NOS from the Worlds Fair that I found at an estate sale quite a while ago.
Every now and then PBS runs a special showing the days of that fair and it takes me back. :)

Nice, Bakers! How great that you found it at an estate sale. I'm sure you were delighted! It's very attractive.

Thanks, Lucille! I was quite surprised to find it. They posted lots of pictures, but none of the silver flatware was in them. The house was packed with stuff in a warren of rooms on 2 floors, unfortunately most of it rather mundane (at least to me.) I finally found a small collection of spoons on a table with other unrelated things and decided that most were more expensive than I thought they were worth to me. And then on an end table was this one all by itself! And more reasonably priced to boot!

Tonight I went to a rummage sale at a church that used to have good ones. I was one of the first two up the stairs to the jewelry, and saw another dealer buying everything I wanted before I could even get to the table. I did manage to get a Victorian cameo...only to find the crack in the shell when I got it home.:bigtears::bigtears::bigtears: Spent $30 on top of the $5 admission fee and probably shouldn't have bothered. I hope tomorrow is better.
