    Hi all
Recently moved into a property and found a rather interesting clock in the loft.
It's a smiths clock but i know nothing about clocks, I'll be taking it to an antique shop to check it's authenticity and date but i thought I'd post on here and see if you guys can give me any insight.
It's hand painted face and you can see the pencil lines where it was lightly drawn to paint the words on the face. Mechanism all works fine but I have no key.
Can any of you guys give me an estimated date on this clock?
    Thanks

That's the best picture I can get from the bottom of the opening on the clock.

Someone has either redone an old case and put a modern mechanical movement in it or the whole package may be fairly modern IMHO.

I rather think someone started with just the old wooden case and purchased readily available modern parts. I think they could not find a dial that they liked so they carefully created their own on the back of another. The hands are very modern. Just my thoughts on the clock.

Thanks for your input I have no idea on clocks you're probably right. Thought I could have found a rare item but nevermind.

There's a few other things here too so I may still be in luck of finding something.
    There's an old serving plate
A few old bone China items
And a few wooden wall ornaments.
    :)

That is an interesting clock if it is original as it is rare to find a striking dial clock It appears to have a routine going barrel movement but I cannot see it well enough to date it. It is possible that it is early 20thC.

The painting of the dial is a bit cack-handed, as not enough space was left for 'London'.

Is the front fastened to the back box with 4 wood pegs? If it is removing them will allow a clear shot of the movement
Smiths of Clerkenwell may have made a striking dial clock in the day, try searching those terms.
A shot of the whole back would be helpful. Any antique shop should have a few old keys around they could sell for a modest sum.
