Featured silver and turquoise pendant necklace help

hi folks

can anyone tell if the turquoise in this pendant i found today looks legit or not

stone measure 1 1/4 inches

theres a big groove in the back of stone for some reason

any thoughts appreciated

 

Seems genuine to me! From the reverse it was a bead cut in half.

 

awesome thanks krya, its not a bad size either, dont like pendants at all, but it would make one awesome ring if i can get it made into one

 

the stone looks ok from here...the grove i can't comment on....

The groove is not as cavernous as it looks, only a couple of mm deep at a slant

 

the way the stone fits in the metal...looks almost sloppy...

 

Beautiful, charlie. I think it could be Chinese turquoise from Hubei province.

I am clearly not fully awake, I read the groove is not as carnivorous as it looks.

slipped through the charity net as the hallmark is tiny and not on the main pendant

not positive it says 925 either to be honest, will try and get a better pic today of the mark

 

very weak or worn hallmark, very hard to work out

decided i wanna keep it now

dont like the way pendants hang on a thin bare chain though, so got a bit inventive

not sure if turquiose totally goes with carnelian though, bit clashy ? any thoughts ?

 

This particular modernist turquoise pendant doesn't go with with this particular classic (antique?) faceted carnelian necklace, imo. Besides, the metal of the bail could cut through the cord.

think ill just pair it with a more contemporary thicker silver chain

 

do prefer it at that length though
