Mexican silver

    Hello again, i won a few years ago these 2 silver pots below melt value when silver at $12-13 Oz, don't remember. Do someone know the mark RJ? Images were screenshots from seller, both are boxed, i'll open it later.

    RJ in Mexico D.F., with an ornate sterling mark and the eagle mark is listed in Bille Hougart's Mexican Silver Hallmarks book, but I can't find more info than that.
    This particular eagle mark was introduced ca. 1955 and commonly used until ca 1979. Some silversmiths still use it.

    Thanks Any, not everything is on internet. Is the same with another really scrap pot i got, F. Bucher & sons. I don't know if it's worth repair it.

    I feel the same, last night i was watching youtube and a man was recycling silver objetcs, every time he use the hammer i felt terrible.

    I think that last one is American; the company name certainly is, and older than dirt too. I think the company went out of business at the start of the Depression.
