    Synthetic rubies also glow under UV light, one should be very careful to just use an UV lamp to "distinguish" Brumese rubies from other rubies:

    The fluorescence colour is different though. Burmese rubies fluoresce like on the photo I posted, synthetic rubies fluoresce much more orange. The difference in colour is greater in real life than on the photos on that site.
