    I love the leather inlay on this one, art nouveau? late 19th century? 2017-02-22 15.52.26.jpg 2017-02-22 15.48.44.jpg 2017-02-22 15.48.53.jpg 2017-02-22 15.51.59.jpg 2017-02-22 15.50.34.jpg 2017-02-22 15.49.17.jpg

Maybe an ebonized piano with some nice Art Nouveau sconces?
Stool translated into Dutch is 'kruk' as well as 'ontlasting'. So a 'piano-kruk' is a piano stool.:)

must be weird for english speakers when they go to an antique store or something like it in the netherlands and hear people talking about an antique "stoel" meaning that antique chair over there... stoelgang(chairgoing literally translated) relates to poop not so much stoel itself. Maybe that is how the word came to be, a polite way of saying one has to poop as one can sit on a toilet as well....oh well nevermind... etymology is fun... ;)

Just as weird as all the perfectly normal English words which sound positively obscene in Dutch.:wideyed: Ah, the joys of being multi-lingual.:pompous:
