I got a few paintings today, some I know the artist, this one I don't.
Is it E. Motz or emotz ? It's very nicely done, good shadowing etc.

    Thank You

There is an artist named Eugene Motz, but his art doesn't seem to match this work.

Also found an Esther Motz. Only found one piece and it was dissimilar.

The bowsprit fell off the Peter Iredale wreck in 1961, but I think this painting represents a considerably earlier period, judging by the masts still being present; I'd also guess that the painting was done later than 1961, as a guess.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like one of those desert scenes from The Empire Strikes Back?

Thank You Joy, I like it, I might keep it. My favorite art is pop art and abstract from the 50's through 70's.

Hi Billy how did it go with finding more info on the artist of your cool ship painting? I ask because I came across another painting signed EMotz that matches yours. This one is at an estate sale taking place this weekend. It too has what looks like a lot of great work with shading and shadows. There's also a bit of that Star Wars desert Screenshot_2023-11-09-17-08-35-722_com.android.chrome~2.jpg Screenshot_2023-11-09-17-08-35-722_com.android.chrome~2.jpg Screenshot_2023-11-09-17-08-39-332_com.android.chrome~2.jpg effect someone mentioned in this one.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

I'm sorry Frausto , but this thread is over 6 years old and Billy...G-d bless his heart , hasn't been seen in years..

Also...no one has added any new info to this tread......... so what's here is all that's known so far.

Maybe a thread resurrection , could bring new eyes to bear...???

Old but interesting. I suspect this artist was painting from photographs.
