I thought this recent plaque/paperweight was pretty cool. Still trying to figure out if this is something they made many multiples of or just one of a few.

Looks very similar to telephone magneto

But the 600 volts is not right for telephony

and the thumbscrew terminals are more like for demolition

I remember seeing something like this on Pawn Stars or one of those antique restoration shows. But I can't find it. There is this though, that I found while looking

Terrific information. I like the idea of it nestling a soup tureen in it's shiny self. The surface is highly scratched, so something was slid off and on with regularity. I once ate a an incredibly fancy hotel in St Petersburg, Russia. Everything was sumptuous. I remember the silver underplates and chargers.

Yesterday’s $avers, less than $7. A generic bread tray and 8 pieces of Reed & Barton “eighteenth century” pattern.

From what I've researched, its an old generator something that would have been used in schools to teach electronics.

I don't think I will find a replacement crank for this, the chances of one of those crank arms turning up anywhere are very slim, knowing my luck there will be one on the bay for 2k. I'm going to build my own crank arm and try make it close to the original as possible.

Here's a clip from a 1926 Albert Pick catalog, they show 12 oz. and 20 oz. versions, a quick search finds Wallace produced a 16 oz. tureen:

WOW! That's astonishing that you found that catalogue view. It allows me to create a better picture in my mind. Actually, I was imagining a ceramic bowl instead of a matching silver one. I love this journey into history. Thanks so much for tracking this down. I will think of this image and you whenever I see the plate.

Unlikely to be Dutch, despite decor, Johnny. Dutch decor was very popular here in the US in the 1920's. Lots of it made.

The crystal egg looks nicely engraved to me, hand work. Etching is a acid process using a pattern. JMHO :)
