    dear all

opalescent fluted vase looks like venetian? maybe victorian? but couldn't really find anything exactly the same. these fluted vases (or comes in a bunch like a bouquet) were very popular during the british penang era.
    6 1/2" tall, rim widest 4 1/2", base 3"
    no mark anywhere.
please help with date and maker identification?

    regards

Very pretty! I'm not a "glassie", but a bottom's pic will help those who know :)
I suspect the green glass is UV reactive and will glow under black light...

When searching try using the term rigaree to describe the applied glass bits.

19th C, if I saw it here, I'd say made in Stourbridge.

This is a similar vase I sold this year. I never could pin down the maker but it's Victorian with opalescent cranberry and green vaseline glass with spiraling rigaree. The nearest I could come to an ID was 'maybe' Stephen & Williams.

    Good luck with yours! P1010033.jpg

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as "green Vaseline Glass". Vaseline Glass is yellow, the color of old Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. If it's green and it glows it is green uranium glass :)

    Hi Marie,
You got part of it right. Old Vaseline petroleum was a greenish yellow. Not yellow like today's vaseline. I forget when the color change took place. I think it was the 60s but not sure.

    You're correct.
I didn't see how green it was. These are usually like what jakatch posted and glow green. Just assumed it was the lighting.
    My mistake. Sorry.

Would the glass color be described as Rubena Verde, with the combination of pink and green?
