    Hi everyone,

I hope your hunting is going great. This was a fun find for me, it's a green glass P. D'Avesn ashtray I picked up today from my local thrift shop:

It does have a few "edge nicks" but nothing major. The more I look at it, the more I like the green color of the glass, it reminds me of the old coke bottles. Based on my basic research, I'm thinking it might be from 1940's/1950's.

I probably would have passed that by. Never heard of him.

I can see yours is an ashtray. But this piece is very similar. From your link

Thank you tie.dye.cat, I'm always trying to improve my photography skills of items. For this one, I used a flood light to the left of the ashtray and then I used a high powered bounce flash (aiming my flash to the ceiling and making the light 'bounce' diffused down to the object) on my camera. It definitely brought out the color and the shape of the ashtray out in a cool way. I'm never finished with my obsession to take good photographs as there's a definite correlation of good photos and selling items (at least I think so). :cigar:

A local antique store had a lovely Art Deco chandelier by the same maker...it had wonderful frosted glass. My recall may be hazy but I think he used to work at Lalique before going on his own.
