foo dog incense burner

    IMG_0895.JPG IMG_0897.JPG IMG_0899.JPG Wondering if anybody can tell me what type of pottery this is. It definitely isn't porcelain. Texture is kinda rough. Marking on the underside can't be read

    It's a clay (earthenware) incense burner or sometimes called censer. I would have guessed chinese - but the one on this link has a sticker from Japan - probably made fairly recently. Here's a similar one that sold on rubylane for $28:

    So would I, it looks somewhat like blue Yixing (Zisha) pottery to me. The Japanese one is more stylized.
