Thanks for letting me join....

    Hi everyone from "Down Under". I'm a UK expat living in Oz with an elderly Mother who has quite a lot of collectibles/antiques which she and my Dad brought over from UK and I need to sort through and get to know more. I have one small item I'd like to start with which I know nothing about. I've done lots of searching online but no joy. It has a small gold mark on the base (nothing indentifiable, to me anyway). Unfortunately I don't have a photo of the marking (yet), just the piece itself which I've attached. Thanks in advance.
