    Hello all again,

I now feel awful as I'm basically the last 3 posts in this category :(

Sorry about this, but I wanted to get opinions on a signature.

I'm not sure what the name says.

    Any guesses would be great!

    Thank you again in advance!
Really do appreciate all of the help!

    ScanticAntiques, just some wild-eyed guessing but . . .

I believe the photograph might be inscribed to Mr/Mrs True.

From (possibly) someone named C. T. Quintard???

Also, perhaps you can tell by looking at the photo itself, is it possible that the gentleman in the photo is wearing a clerical collar (or it could be simply a collar configuration/fashion of the time of the photo)?

With the photo in your hands, does the gentleman appear to have an olive (or perhaps a slightly darker) complexion?

I vote for Quintard as well. But I think the upper line just says Yours Truly.

Is there a photographer's stamp on the back?

If memory serves from a previous thread, Rockwood was an important name in New York City photographers. Figtree would know better.

I did read that Rockwood did a famous photo of Wild Bill, but that's all I've read. I guess he started the CDV in the US?

We need @Figtree3 for that question, scantic. She's a specialist collector of photographic ephemera.

Clutteredcloset, my apologies that I didn't see your post with the link about Charles Todd Quintard before I repeated the "link." ;)

    >..the researcher par excellence!<

Just nothing better to do at the moment. It has been a boring rainy day. :bored::yawn: Ole Miss got trounced by Arkansas and at the moment DH is worrying over the Tennessee and Missouri game. He's a TN boy and I Ole Miss.

I really should be doing something constructive like getting ready for company this coming week. :(

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Hi, All -- Wasn't here last night so didn't see this thread.

About Rockwood, here is a rather long thread I started here about one of my photos of Adelaide Schell. LOTS of information about Rockwood:
    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/adelaide-schell-who-was-she.545/

In case you don't want to read the whole thing, the Rockwood information gets going on page 3 of the above thread and continues through page 4.
