Shoemaker's Form

    This belonged to my grandfather who for a time was a shoemaker until the depression hit. Not sure of it's purpose. There is a number 8 that very faintly shows on the bottom and near the toe I can make out an "N" I think. Looks to me as if it is for the right foot. Any thoughts?
