Any advice on what to do with this? Much appreciated

While I'm going through boxes of old books, I came across a scrapbook of sorts and this was between pages. The paper seems fragile, was already torn in the corner.
Should I have this looked at? Frame it to keep safe?

 

Onion skin paper. From what I can read, doesn't have any historical value. Just old. Or am I wrong?

Curious. What determines historical value?

 

In this case, it would be if either of the individuals mentioned in the letter are known historical figures. Or if it were signed by a known historical figure.

I can't bear to discard things like this. My general practice is to fold them and put them inside an old book for the next person to puzzle over, perhaps many, many years hence.

Try to see if the Army wants it.

 

The camp was open for only a short period of time. It is possible an archive might want it. Or a descendent of one of the men cited.

Never know what will fill in a blank.

 

A lot of Army records were burned to ash in a fire in the early 70s. Some historical group or other would fall all over this.

Someone very close to me has told me of his experience as a pilot in the Korean War. But today there is no record of him. Breaks my heart

 

Has he tried on military.com?
He may find out much more.
I have another source too but the name not is coming to me just now.

The veterans' records were kept in a warehouse, back in the days when it was all paper. WWI, WWII, Korea, and even some Nam. Gone up in smoke. Navy stuff is safe, but Army and Air Force from 1912-1972 is mostly gone. https://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/fire-1973.html

 

I've been reading. Can't help but wonder how many people are oblivious to this.
I was. now I understand my friends pain. No record of what he went through.

On those and similar sites many people remember things and may have notes and logs.
