I picked up 2 of these tables today and some paintings for $10 at my local thrift store.
Both tables have a clear looking sticker on them but no markings, just clear.
    Each one weighs about 35 lbs. 039.JPG 040.JPG 042.JPG 043.JPG 044.JPG 046.JPG
Does anybody know if these have a maker or etc. ?

    Thank You

Formica on top, probably US, not Danish I'm thinking.

I have seen this kind of furniture described as "Danish modern style", but maybe more accurate to say "Mid Century Modern" in style.

They have a great profile and almost have that "floating" look. Maybe Lane? Can't help with the tag.

I'm sure someone would like these. They look well made.

Agree on all points. I thought Lane too at first, but I see a lot of Lane stuff in thrifts and used furniture stores around here (being in Virginia) - and just about every piece of mid century Lane I've ever seen has solid wood tops - not formica like this one. Doesn't mean it isn't Lane - just doesn't seem typical to me.

1970s absolutely. Very common here in style and with that Formica top, too.

    Wait - not so fast.
I had the same tables about a year ago and couldn't figure them out - sold them cheap.
Then I realized who made them - someone big. But I can't remember!!!! :arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:
Let me think about it for a long while................

The listing ... & I ....both say could be.....I wasn't there when it was made...& I'm only working from fond memory on Dad's desk......But I remember when he replaced his roll top with the new one....& it was such an open flowing design with thin legs.....& I hated it....cuz I didn't understand it !

So...for now...I'm still with Komo on this one !!:happy:

Yes, I think you could get away with saying "Jens Risom style". I too looked around at Jens Risom pieces. Also did not see any with Formica. Another small detail missing, did not see any Jens Risom with metal feet covers.

So maybe an off shoot, etc. Do look sturdy and well made, though.

As the set of 3 sits unsold on Etsy for $299 at the moment, you have a price point of sorts, depending on where you live and the condition. People who want this kind of thing and are willing to spend money usually want "close to perfect".

Although Formica is poo-pooed in some circles, it is actually not a bad surface for drinks, etc. I noticed the Etsy auction referred to the Formica as:

    "....heavy laminate faux wood style."

If you don't have a store and are trying to sell this set on Craigslist or similar, you might carefully borrow some of the phrasing from that seller.

They are being truthful, that's all. Unless they KNOW it is Formica (a copyrighted name), it is laminate.................ask Velcro, they'll explain it - or rather their lawyers will!!!!:woot:
