Glass medicine bottle info please

    Apart from the dubious and possibly toxic contents (I am considering how to safely get the stopper out and clean it without poisoning myself) please can anyone tell me anything about this bottle?.
    My parents have some this shape from my grandfather who was a GP but I’d like to know how to age it or identify any points to look at.
    The base has what looks like two numbers 8 over something.
    There is a very fine seam that runs from the base to the top of the neck but I can’t see in detail because of the dirt and contents . If you zoom in on the neck on the last photo you can see the seam.

    There's an excellent bottle diggers and collectors group on Facebook who might id it. Some prefer these uncleaned.
