It was in about 1994 when I saw "PLEASE RETURN TO" as a slogan on Tiffany's stuff. I'm sure the younger generation will still be interested in that.

Yours look more the real deal than the ones on 1st. I can't see yours as well as I'd like to on top of the lettered colored bag.

Possibly, just like sugar and coffee go down the production line and dispensed into a bag with a different label.

That may be so, but if they're fake I don't want to keep them and I certainly can't sell them. If they're fake, they die with me. I'll melt them, or smash them up and break them and throw them out.

At least I have more than enough other things for sale on eBay which are real, which I can recoup my loss with. Which thank goodness, wasn't much!

I hope the card-case I bought is real. It should be arriving next week. There aren't any fakes of those floating around, are there? I researched this one really carefully before bidding on it, too. Looked up as many examples online as I could find.

Virtually everything can be "faked" if there is money in it to make a profit.

@Shangas, I really do hope for you that yours are real, I too am just seeing what I see as potential 'red' flags.....the Tiffany engraving really doesn't look as refined as it should.....can you take them in to a Tiffany jewelry store for verification??

hi @Shangas have faith I dont think they are fake. (but then again i am no expert)

These cufflinks are an extremely popular design and have been in existence for years. For all you know they could have had minor refinements every few years which is why minor differences are there.

IMO the hallmark which is at the back of the cufflinks is more important than the front. I must add that even those differ from where the cufflinks have been manufactured.

All of the above is from my very very limited experience chasing some tiffany cufflinks.

I wish you all the best and i hope you wear them proudly along with your MB pens.

This is the reason I either give away or melt most Tiffany silver I run across. I sell Tiffany glass to a local antiques guy who loves it. Sure beats shipping it!

I checked LOADS of images before buying. I visited all kinds of sites to make sure.

I won't be able to do anything with them for at least three months. With the virus going around, everything is locked up. It won't be until November at the earliest - maybe - that I'll be able to get them checked. I was so certain they were real. I spent ages checking up on how to spot fakes, what imperfections to look out for.

At the moment, they're on the "scrap-silver-to-melt" pile. At this point I may as well throw them out.

Dear @Shangas my only advice to you is to not act in haste and disappointment. Don't throw them out. wait till November and get them checked out. They are cufflinks, they are not really going to add much in silver value. You can always sell them as scrap once you have got them checked.

Right now, they're on the "to-melt" pile. I won't keep them if they're fakes. And obviously I can't sell them on, so if they're silver, they're melt.

That's as may be, but everybody else was so sure they weren't real, and I'm trying to establish myself as an antiques dealer here. Who is going to trust a dealer who can't tell genuine Tiffany? They'll have to go. No other option.

I'll leave that up to the experts to decide. Given what they've said, it looks real to me, but what do I know?

Although I am not overly convinced yours are Tiffany's, I agree with Roshan, to wait until you have the final verdict from Tiffany's.

I just saw this on their Melbourne shop site:
"From Monday 21st September, our Collins St store will be offering virtual appointments"
So maybe that is an option?

My gut feel is that they're wrong uns. The bag isn't right for a start.
