Featured Please help me ID this tool!!

I found this old tool in my grandpa's barn. He said it has been there since he was a kid (he's 85 yrs old now). He would like me to sell it but I've been researching for days and haven't been able to identify it. Any help is appreciated!

 

Measurements would help.

 

Interesting silhouette, but the pictures are not terribly helpful. You'd be better off having the light shine on the item, not from behind it. Maybe take it outside.

Likely something specialized for an old piece of machinery IMHO.

 

Hole saw....

 

It's for cranking over something. Perhaps an engine. Anything with an engine.
Possibly just for setting valves.

Agree with hole saw. Hard to tell from here but most saw blades have staggered teeth; check for that up close.

 

I'll have to research antique hole saws. I had thought maybe it was a wrench or a crank of some kind.

 

The one that is a lever or whatever is probably a crank as I stated above.
It isn't to start an engine for there goes fingers, hand whatever.
The one with teeth on each end may be some odd hole saw.
It could be it locks into another part to spin it. When one set of teeth wear out there is another.
Or...it may fit to the 'crank' for a different obect's tooth pattern.

 

You have to remember that, especially on a farm, back then for sure, EVERYTHING was kept for much could be made of 'nothing'.

I'm like that. I miss my huge shop and 2.5 acres.
I was always making something of nothing, modifying something to repurpose it or to fix other things.
I rarely bought anything new.
Much came from G-saling and salvage places or just found.

 

It's just one tool, the part with the teeth is attached to the lever-like handle. Sorry if my pics didnt make that apparant

 

Ok then more a crank for sure.

That idea is closer than I got....but without the handle for leverage......I gotta wonder....?
