@charlie cheswick , that one piece reminds me of a Victorian glass eye ......

By the way , are you in the Monterey Bay area ? We have a great "glass beach" here as all the tailings from the Lundberg Glass studio were swept under the highway to the beach when the winter storms made the creek rise and took the barrels behind the glass studio years ago. It is, however , a rather dangerous beach as the tide will come in and trap you , and I know one person at least drowned there .

    Hi mate

    No from the UK

There is a place like that in the uk called seaham though which had a glass factory, where all of the end of the day glass was thrown into the sea

So you can find lots of multi coloured pieces

I think alot of people have cottoned on now though !!!

Appledore is lovely, I used to stay not far from there on business. There's a very good B&B close to Bideford. Scrambled eggs with clotted cream in them......

Appledore is renowned for its hockings ice cream, made in Appledore and only sold in local areas

they certainly paint a nice picture with words, i wanna know when the novels coming out :)

"On clear nights the stars twinkle brightly and the breeze gently whispers through the old pine trees. You can hear the call of the owl late in the evening and watch the kestrel hunting by day. Sheep often graze peacefully in the adjoining fields and there are walks galore through the little hamlet of Eastleigh and its country lanes"

could you see lundy island from there ?

Do you know, I don't remember!

There was a cracking pub about a mile away and we also ate in a vast vaulted sort of cheerful pub in Appledore.
