The brooch looks like Russian paper mache. We have lots of Russian immigrants here so they turn up regularly.

I did a little reading on it and it has an interesting history - there have been 3 cliff houses on the same spot. The current one(still standing) was finished in 1909. The previous one was built only about 13 years earlier - but burned down. The original was built in 1863 but was damaged by an explosion when a ship ran aground, then several years later burned down as well.

T'was the striking color that made me look twice at this in the store. Definitely very impressive in person. I love it too!

    THANKS! :)
Those were shot and sent from my phone.
    I don't usually do that.
I just checked and they are not turned.
This does happen from my computer too and those are always correct when sent. :p

Russian fairy tale brooch, just don't ask me which story. This is what turned up today. The pin is enamel and 10k; I'm trying to figure out whose logo that is, if anyone. The copper earrings are going straight into my hoard; they're Renoir. The labradorite ones aren't marked but ought to be sterling.

Lol evelyb, I recently had a similar pin. Yours is in better condition than mine was. Here's the thread.
