Found this at an antique store and thought it was interesting. Although, I am not sure what it held inside. Was it jewelry? At the top it looks like it held a bracelet but at the bottom it looks like flatware?? Any ideas? Definitely 1920s.

I don't think that was a jewelry box. Those "fittings" look more like some larger item(s) were kept inside. Something the shape of the flattened space in the lid with a narrow part that was held between the 2 blocks by the metal "latch." The shelf could have had fitted bottles or jars that went into the 2 round and 1 oval holder. What happens with the shelf when you close the lid?

And btw, the 5 little holder(s) on the front (when opened) may have held various grooming tools.

What is written below the word Victorian and above the word box in the tag?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Maybe "Dresser" ???

That would make a lot of sense, given what I see.

I have had a number of the Victorian type flatware boxes with the satin inside. This is not one of them.

Dressing table set with manicure items. The oval space, for example, held a nail buffer. Someone has abstracte the probably guilloche engine turned silver niceties and sold them singly.
