Chinese square vase question

    Hi,
    It has been drilled for a lamp. Value now is just decorative. personally I do not feel it had much value before being made into a lamp.

    Is that more detailing added to the robes and burner in 2nd pic or scratches ?

    I think it's quite a nice piece, but not an expert of course

    Thanks not worried about the hole. Is nice needed a second guess from others. Any thoughts of age? I still say republic years. Am no expert but I think is painted good, better then a fake?

    id be interested to know as well, im sure someone will know more

    its something i would have bought if i saw for the right price

    i was tempted to suggest earlier (late 19c,early 20) because of the kiln grit but apart from the foot rim , the base looks mighty fresh

    Faces look a bit too cute to be republic. Fairly modern IMHO

    Modern? Compare the Hong Kong famille rose to this face completely different faces the modern one looks more cartoonish face and thick. This is thinner also red lines. Ichy head still thinking hard

    I decided I bought it 16in color is blended on some spots the imperial bird has painted dots. The incense burner others things in the vase. Is handpainted. Hole or no hole still was deco before or after. I was sweating to buy this. I look at it 16in vase I 4 corner painted scenes I won

    It may be hand painted but I think you'll find the outlines are transfers. See how identical the border devices are to one another?

    Yes the bottom transfer, some parts are handpainted.
