I hope someone can possibly ID this lamp.
It is all Brass, 20" tall. The pull chain sockets are marked Hubbell.
The bottom is or used to be covered in leather?
I haven't been able to remove the bottom cover to see if there is a maker, Thought it would come off easy, but maybe have to remove the bottom nut? Also how can i get rid of the green gunk without hurting the patina?

    Hi,
Great lamp!!! You could remove the bottom nut. The six side nut means the lamp is newer than antique or it could have been a replacement. I think it might have been rewired but without it in hand it will be hard to tell. I would try a soft damp NOT soaking wet old toothbrush and some ketchup to remove the green. Ketchup is thick enough not to run and ruin the rest of the patena.

Hubbell probably just made the sockets.
They are still in business making all types of electrical parts and outdoor lighting though, I think, mainly large lighting fixtures for parking lots and building mounted property lighting.

I am sure they only made the sockets, but high end companies like Handel and Pairpoint used their sockets.

Can someone tell me what the flowers are?

The flowers themselves look like waterlilies, although in nature they don't have those long leaf-less stems.

    Or maybe lotus?

Nice quality lamp. Doubt there will be a maker's mark under that bottom plate. Short of finding this in a catalog or a marked example, I doubt you will be able to attribute it.

Thanks for looking Brad. i didn't find anything under the plate. except that the cord has been replaced, but just from the bottom, not rewired as the old cord shows still.

Nice lamp! Are you sure the green isn't original to the piece?

Try acetone for the green gunk. It works well with coins to remove PVC residue and dirt. It does not affect the patina of the metal at all, and people use it for their rainbow toned coins without any problem.

I didn't think that was gunk either. I'd leave well enough alone.

Be sure to mention that it still has old wiring and should be checked out. Cover your butt.
