Red Clay painted covered dish

    At first I thought Mexican made, then I thought Native American. From the designs I have no idea who made it or where it came from.
    Anybody have any ideas on the origin of his and possible age ?

    It looks like it was made on a potter's wheel, so I think that rules out Native American.

    Try rubbinfg a little flour in that signature 6 pics down. It looks like it could say "mexico" or "navajo" I think.

    Rubbing with a stick of chalk works good, too, if you have any around the house.

    This type of pottery is from the area around Cusco, Peru. It probably doesn't really matter what the signature is, but you can rule out Navajo or Mexico....
