Black fur coat with curly lambs wool

Wondering if anybody knows the inside of this coats 2 leaves designs. Has one on each side towards the bottom. No label that I could find, maybe had one at neckline before ?

Do these embroidered leaves mean anything ?

The cuffs are curly lamb, and the shiny stuff might be mink. The leaves mean it was custom made for some lucky stiff, but don't point to whodunnit.

The OP noted that there is no label in the garment.................I think the BenMarc is printed on the clothes hanger, and probably not related to the coat at all.

We always referred to this "curly" lamb as Persian Lamb................I have no idea if that is correct or not, but that is what my Nanny called her coat............and when it got rump sprung she had it converted to a short "cubby" and a hat, then it eventually wound up as two (hand) muffs for her granddaughters................

 

Too funny! Apologies all. Time for those (long delayed) bifocals.

I think its a reversible coat,possibly 1940s.

Hard to tell proportions from photograph but possible its a 1940s "chubby." Strong shoulder and boxy shape? There's a good selection of vintage coats (some 1940s and some identified as such but not) to browse here.

From a distance, the coat looked like mink, however, when I saw the fur in the close-up photo above the sleeve, I'm not so sure. Can you post another close-up photograph of the fur?

In some areas the fur looks to long and thick to be mink. Maybe fox.
