Does anyone know anything about this painting or who the artist is. Would love to know more about it. Thanks.

 

Might be a Paris street scene by Burnett.

 

I can see BUR-ETT, there’s a large amount of Burnetts around and the painting looks similar in style etc

 

Think they're all factory paintings.

The same scene has been signed, clearly at times, with J Burnett, W Burnett, H Burnett etc....

Possibly a family of artists mass-producing the same pieces for sale, or simply mass-produced paintings made and signed with simply 'a name' to be signed, allotting a surname to various design types being sold.

before the burnout syndrome there was a Burnett syndrome that made people dislocate to Paris and paint over and over again the same Montmartre - Sacré Coeur - Place du Tertre scenes.
it was lateron declared as "obsessional neurosis" widely spread in the USA in families where the father fought in France against the temptations of Montmartre and Bois de Boulogne and against "un petit dedans-dehors" which was lateron included in Clockwork Orange.

 

And we're living with the results.
