Cane seated chair - any thoughts?

    Any thoughts as to age, production, etc.? Looking at the grain of the wood, the back rail appears to be bent as well as shaped. It has a repair plate on the underside. I personally know it to be at least 50 years old, and in the 50 years that I have owned it, I don't think it has been "used" more than 3 or 4 times. The metal feet were probably added within that time frame, but I have no recollection of doing so.

    Seat is 17.5" from the floor, back rail is 32.75" from the floor.

    NOTE: Though the cane appears to be plastic in some photos, it is actual cane as it splits length-wise and crumbles when twisted.

    Looks like a run of the mill late 19th C occasional chair/bedroom chair with a bobbin turned spat and stretcher.
