Thanks for the acceptance to Antiquers. I have several items of interest that I am researching, which I will post about. Main interests are historical items, tools, furniture, books and art.

    regards
    Phil

    Welcome to the forum!
Though you say that your main interests are historical items, tools, furniture, books and art, I can almost guarantee that your interests will expand mightily as you delve into some of the more exotic genres we see here! I know mine have..............

    Welcome, Phil from NC.

Just curious but . . . do you know the official State Song of NC ("The Old North State")?

If you do know it, please, I beg you please, do not dare post the first two [edit to "the third line"] here or "we" will never live them down. ;) :hilarious:

I must say that the words were written in the middle of the first half of the 1800s.

KingofThings, it's actually the third line with a word which did not have "quite" the same meaning back in the early 1800s as it has come to mean now. ;)

"Tho' the scorner may sneer at and wittlings defame her . . . ."
