    Morning all,
Sterling stick pin, 2"L - does it say 1916"? Has some hallmarks but they are teeny tiny and even with a loupe I can't read them.
    Any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)

Interesting pin. Could be 100% off, but I wonder if this could be a kilt pin? Can't help with the marks, though.

Looks well made. Wait for others. :)

That's very cool!!! And I think it could go either way.....it EASILY could say 1916!!! OR those/that bar on the left could be there for stability, for '96!!! In which case, it would leave you up in the air for 1896 or 1996????? Think I'd go for 1916, I like that better!!! I'll try but don't think I can get anything better on the marks if YOU couldn't with a loupe......NICE PIN!!!!!

thanks Luciille:) Maybe a kilt pin, not sure if it is big enough though, will check them out.

Thanks Aquitaine:) it could be 96 too, I never thought of that! Yes, the marks are driving me crazy, will see if I can get some better photos through the loupe that show them clearly

Now that you've brought it up... I do see numbers. 1976.

So, I did what TOPAZ does, but not very good....Top one is 2X larger & enhanced and bottom is down to 1.5X, almost, but not quite discernible.....close...but no cigar!!!! Sorry!!! Unless you think you can get a better image!!

I've just added 3 more photos - this photo shows the mark on the left a bit better, maybe two 'v' or 'w'?

No. I really do see 1976! The top bar on which the upper numbers sit could form the first stroke of a 7.

Searching for 1916 pins I see lots of stuff to do with the Easter Rising in Ireland. If this is indeed a Kilt pin it would make a lot of sense.

Kilt pins aren't stick pins, you'd annihilate your legs. I wonder if this was a Bicentennial thing.

It's a stickpin, looks like '1916' to me, the tails of the '9' and '6' forming the '7' that Debora sees. Can make out Dublin hallmarks, but not the year - feel sure it's the 1966 'Y' (50th anniversary of the Easter Uprising), especially since the maker looks to be Kilkenny Design Workshops...

@cxgirl TO ME, looks pretty clearly like a sideways W with a bar underneath, but you may have a legitimate other idea.....sorry I couldn't do anything with the others!! And a bit late posting!!!! Glad you got it figured out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
