What is this style of chair called?

    It was originally an independent company called Viyet, but they were bought by Sotheby's. So there is a genuine connection with Sotheby's.
    Sotheby's are now much more than just an auction house.
    If you look at the Sotheby's website, you will see Sotheby's Home in the bar at the top of the page:

    Dutch Empire followed French Empire very closely btw. Dutch-made Empire period furniture is often indistinguishable from French Empire furniture. The fact that the chair in the link looks slightly off for French Empire, means it could have been made outside France, possibly in a country under French rule, like the Netherlands (old Netherlands, including Belgium and Luxemburg).
