Cluttered, you are SO right! I felt positively filthy when I got out of there!

Welcome to our not so exclusive club!!! :D:D:D:D

Some thrifts are better than others when it comes to smells & cleanliness, but Pat is correct about carrying the wipes with you. I not only use them for my hands but will sometimes give the pieces I find a quick swipe to see if it will come clean. :):)

I have recently stumbled upon a thrift not far from my house that has become a treasure trove for me.:smuggrin: One of my latest purchases was 3 rolls of wallpaper border that were still sealed up in plastic. I paid a little over $6.00 for all 3 & sold all 3 in less than 3 days for $45.00. :woot::woot: This was more than twice what I had spent for everything I bought that day. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

Thanks, all, for the comments and tips about thrift store shopping. I will admit that I DID have a lot of fun, but I have a feeling it's going to be a long time before I do it again! (The last thing I need is more stuff!)

Of course, I do keep thinking about selling a bit again... Then I slap myself to make that thought go away!

I don't go much anymore...but a few years ago..I did...mostly for good brand name clothes..esp. jeans for my granddaughter ...the GW here is close by some very affluent communities...so a lot of clothes were high end..and in good shape..
Now she prefers to pick out her own clothes ;) ..

I just use a little spit.
Another reason to carry wipes. There's probably a lot of people like me:inpain::eek::vomit:

They put the Goodwill boutique stores in the high end communities.
Those stores carry the name brand clothing. No trashy bins, but nicer china, crystal and jewelry. Clean stores.
    There aren't very many though.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

When I was taking Anatomy courses for Speech and Language, they recommended going to either an autopsy or viewing a cadaver....and the instructor HIGHLY recommended having STRONG mints on hand to suck on!!! Might be worthwhile for GW and the like!!!!!

My friend just called to tell me about the Style Show at our local county fair, her Grand Daughter is in sewing. There is a project for Thrift Store Shopping. The 4-Her purchases an entire outfit at a TS
and are judged (I am not sure of criteria) and they model in the Style Show.
Since she knows my passion and addiction to TS, she could not wait to call me.

What was so special about the border plus that is usually pretty heavy.
    All to the same person?

I forgot to say that there is a very good chance that this border is no longer available & someone wanted to use it for a little girl's room.

Depending on how long ago that was, more likely a doll collector.

My choice of wallpaper at the time I was collecting, was an antique toy theme.

I still love it too....even tho the dollar value of my dolls has dropped quite a bit, I'm still just as happy with the wallpaper choice.:cat:

When I was in India in the 70s, I put a dab of perfume underneath my nose every time we went out. The others complained of the smell, I said: what smell?

I love digging around. My local Ill Will is at least clean; there's a Boutique (or a former one maybe) store about half an hour from here but I've never found much in it.
