    Hi All,
I'm so excited, thanks to Mr Nate and his advice on searching for silver, I found this lot on a Facebook on-line auction and won it. Towle Sterling Flute flatware and a Birks sterling coaster (I think that is what it is, 3 1/4"W so it is small). I was expecting lots of bids but there was only 2 other bidders. $175 & $176 and my bid of $300. The person that bid $176 bid $301 when they saw my bid but it was too late:)
    You rock Mr. Nate:)

I like the simplicity of the pattern. I didn’t even know there was FB auctions?!? I have to look into that. I’m sure you already know this but just in case, the knife blades are probably stainless and the handles are probably filled. Silver is way up, I’m sure you know that too.

    thanks folks:)
yes, I'll sell it for scrap except for the 2 servings spoons and ladle, I'll keep those. It has been used and shows lots of wear once I started polishing them

yup, I knew the knife blades wouldn't be sterling and are marked as stainless, but the little butter knives are only marked sterling so I guess they aren't stainless?

Up here the auctions are becoming very popular on Facebook, 24 Hour auctions groups and thrift store auctions:)

Nice buy. The flat butters would be all silver - even in good condition, probably wouldn't get much more than scrap for Silver Flutes. Would guess the Birks piece was originally an individual ashtray and had a matching cigarette urn - better use would be a nut dish or butter pat...

thanks Cheryl:) I hate the thought someone would have used this as an ashtray. I polished it up and since I won't have a use for this as a butter pat, fits my glass perfectly:)

Yay! This is BEAUTIFUL and such a cheap price!!!! Can you share with us how much searching you did to come across this one? I'm curious, as I know for me it's a lot of searching to get a good score. Great job bravo bravo bravo!

thanks Mr Nate, your posts inspire me to look around more:)
In my area the FB 24 hour auctions have become very popular, lots of stuff to go through each day, most of it is not something I'd buy. I was surprised to see the sterling marks, most times they say silver but is silver plate. I was even more surprised there wasn't more interest, hopefully I'll be lucky again:)
