Dolphins can mean either surface or submarine forces too.

Dolphins are usually submarines if memory serves. BTW - are you sure they're not Canadian?

Yes, as I am a US Navy 'Destroyerman' :) but I'm not sure of other country's navies.
    And just because. :) >>>

    A Destroyerman's Creed

    We are Destroyermen!
Ready to sail and always can do.
The first to arrive and the last to go.

We believe a big ship man would have trouble filling our shoes.
We like to think we would have no trouble filling his.

We have learned the lesson of self-reliance,
Of pressing the fight with all we've got,
Of not being afraid of a little tough living,
    Or any tough assignment.

We are the green-water, open-ocean sailors
In the little but mighty combat ships.
    We are real Sailormen,
    The Destroyermen of the Fleet.

We can follow the tracks and ride the backs of the dolphins.
We will be where the action is in every tough situation.

When things are getting too rough for anyone else,
They're getting just right for us. :)

...and they look somewhat like Royal Canadian Navy style dolphins.

Maybe they're civilian? That would explain it.

Never been there. Have been to Bangor, WA sub base both with the US Navy League and to my son's boat when it was there, the USS KAMAHAMEHA. She has been decommissioned and he has a piece of her hull.

USS Warrington hit ordnance in Haiphong Harbor. She was towed to the Philippines by her anchor chain and sat in dry dock for three months until the government sold her to Toyota for scrap. He was an E1 (I think) when he left active service, but then went into the Reserves where he stayed until he retired as a YNCS - 31 years altogether. I was a Navy Family Ombudsman for his last 11 years. I had an office down the hall from his. He still has a seabag packed in the closet. You never know when they might need a 71 year old Yeoman. ;)

(LOL) Truth be told, some guys did get recalled here and there, back when. My dad kept some stuff well into the 80s. It was totally unlikely, but that was the Cold War for you. He was EOD back when, and weird stuff happened once in a while.

Well my best wishes to the Senior Chief!
Mine isn't packed but my uniforms aren't hard to get to. :)
I'm pretty certain I gave my patent leather inspection shoes to a friend as I left. :)

Watch the Finds thread Wednesday night or Thursday to see a score I'll pick up then.
Senior Chief may enjoy seeing it. :)

As sad aside, do you know about the collision off Japan? :(

Unfortunately yes. It's been all over the news; one of the sailors killed was from my state.
