    Hi,

I’m new to this forum and need help. My girlfriend inherited and old ring from her grandmother and we’re trying to find it’s origin. So far we’ve gathered that it’s a silver ring from 1805.

the hallmarks on the back is C.D followed by a crown, a lion and the letter b.

    many thanks

Can you take pictures of the hallmarks and the back of the ring? It does look like it might be an old coin.

Welcome Maastrom. Nice ring, and a nice memento.
Sounds like you have a Sheffield mark, but looking at the open shank I don't know if you have the right date. More photos will help.:)

If it is a coin, is the date 1805 on the coin?

Thanks. The year letter is for 1969, and it is Sheffield made.

The coin looks like a poorly cast replica.
