Picked this up very cheap. After some research it seems to be a Japanese Satsuma vase. Can't really find a way to date it. Has it's makers mark on bottom.

Here's a photo of the actual vase itself.

Welcome,I think your vase is probably 70s-80s,based on the colors . I could be wrong,so wait for others to chime in.

I don't know what it is, but the boys look more Chinese than Japanese.

Be sure to check back, as people come at different times of day to the board.

Thats the vase itself. If you look at the photo I posted with the original body of the original post it'll show you the markings on the bottom. Sorry if I'm not understanding what your asking but I would love to supply you with more info if you're willing to help with information and need more. Thanks

If you want to try tracking down the mark yourself. You can try here:
    http://gotheborg.com/index.htm

Start with Japanese Satsuma since that is what you think it might be.

I will. Thanks so much. I only believe that's what it is because someone on another less trafficked forum mentioned that, so I'm basing it off of that. I did some research and there are similarities in the vases I find under Satsuma, but he and I may be wrong. But I will start here. Thanks again

Yes, it is Satsuma. The Gotheborg site provides good information.

On the left, "Great Japan, Made by Yasuda [安田]." The inscription on the right might be part of a right-left numbering sometimes seen on vases.

Awesome! Do you know if yasuda made quality pieces? I can't find too much information online.

Sorry, I just translate. But note that I give you the characters in the name so that if you Google you find the right Yasuda. I don't know, but there may well be others named Yasuda using different characters or with other characters added. Ultimately, you need to match the characters in your mark. (This is always the case when researching Japanese names.)

I definitely see that. I'll have to spend more time researching the characters

So I've been told its Yasuda and Great Japan from another forum. I was also told the makers name may be AnDen. Anyone heard of him? Thanks

Just another, but uncommon, way of reading 安田, along with Yasuta, Ada and Yamada, not to mention An Tian in Mandarin Chinese. Like I said, keep your focus on the characters, not the reading.

Here's my very similar piece, thought it might be interesting/helpful to compare/contrast. There are some slight differences, mine's a bit larger, with some applied ring/rope decorations on each side. Also mine has a hole drilled in one side at the base...I believe it was probably used as a planter at one point. The mark is similar as well, but my characters are a bit out of line.
