Bronze medal

    Hello.
    I have this bronze medal plaque.
    It is signed on the reverse .
    I can't quite work out what it says on the reverse.
    It looks like WT then some numbers.
    Just wondering if anyone knows anything about what it could be and the sign on the reverse.

    Hi Rita. Tthe star mark looks like a foundry mark. WT88, maybe the number of the model or design.
    The other mark is an official registration mark. Others will be along to explain how to work out the date of the registration.
    Is there anything on the side? A signature maybe?

    I can only put in that it is the (pigeon toed) god Dionysus/Bacchus. What is that little 'button' on the back? Medallion about 2.5 inches in diameter?

    That little round thing that appears to be raised right in the center of the back. Does it perform a function as far as you can tell?

    A bit clearer both regular & inverted....I love what I think is a goat on the reverse!!! @Bronwen, would that go with who's on the front??? Bacchus?

    Like, totally. His own animal is a panther, but in scenes of bacchic rites & his 'revel rout', goats, as symbols of lust, fit right in.
