I've been eyeing this pretty little flower-shaped pin. These are seller's photos, not mine. Seller states peking glass in unmarked sterling silver and gives age as 1940s-60s. I'm NOT a jewelry expert but it looks more like turquoise to me due to some of the "stones" being discolored in that way. And it looks more like Victorian? Where might it have been made?
    I'd love some opinions!
(And if you'd like to reveal what you think is a decent price for such a pin, I'm all ears!)

Agree it is turquoise for the reason you give, although stones are not discolored, the stone comes in a range of shades. Construction looks quite solid. Later Victorian would be my guess. Not doing prices, nohow, no way. :)

Late 19th, agreed, and I'd think turquoise.

    Thanks for the replies!
I just had the thought to look at the seller's other stuff and he/she actually has a couple hundred turquoise items for sale, 99.9% of which is Native American. Odd that they'd get this one so wrong... hmmm...

In other searching, I've come across several Victorian pave-style turquoise brooches set just like this one.

I've often grabbed bargains from dealers who specialise but have that one odd thing.

Trouble is, I'm not sure that this is a bargain, LOL. The similar, much more expensive, brooches I'm finding are set in gold but this one is silver. I haven't yet found a comparable.

Looks like Persian turquoise, it's often the robin's egg blue.

I'd say if under $30, buy it:)

Persian turquoise is indeed far more common in Victorian jewellery. I'd agree with @kyratango

Absolutely, they loved Persian turquoise. It was regarded as the best quality turquoise and exported all over the world.
