African Bow with feathers

    I recently got from my friend a few spears, bows and a blow gun in a trade we did.
    have any idea which tribe made this and why the string is so darn long .

    Looks to me like a fishing item. Entice the fish close enough to you with the feathers on the end of the rope then spear it. Maybe a more "show" than "go" item.

    I'd suspect it's from the Amazon region of South America, rather than Africa, based on the feathers. (And those last two photos are rather odd and disturbing!)
