Picked this up at an estate sale. Did a quick Ebay search and some are listing theirs as 1st edition. Is mine anything special?

Here are some listings from used book dealers on abebooks.com which may be helpful. Keep in mind that these are asking prices, not sales prices, and condition matters.

No matter how old one gets, Winnie the Pooh is always the most special bear in the world.

I'm not finding anything definitive in terms of errata. Curses on competent printing! Yours fits the descriptive criteria, but its condition looks poor. You'll be at the bottom of the price scale.

As a grace note to the above discussion: a nostalgic google into Winnie-the-Pooh brought up a great deal of Disney related information. Now I have never seen ANY Disney version, as, in this, I am a purist. Milne and Shepard are sacrosanct to me. However, I did find an almost tempting factoid: Judy Dench was once the voice of Kanga!

Some first edition points are mentioned in this blog post:

Note that without a dust jacket the value falls quite a bit, even if you have a true first edition, first printing. And the condition of the cover does seem poor. Does it have all of its pages? Is the cover loose? How is the binding? All of these things make a difference related to value.

Here's a video about identifying the first edition:

Based on that video, the copyright page on your book is incorrect for a first edition.

Hi..I think the video is for the real first edition England. This Winnie may be the first American edition but really not sure.

I think you are right... I didn't check that.

In the blog link I posted above it mentions, " A similar large paper first U.S. limited edition of 200 numbered copies and 26 lettered copies was also published in 1926, in this case by Dutton & Co. in New York. These copies have blue and pink boards ..."

    So this is different also.

I found this page that shows an image of the cover of the first American edition, a little over halfway down.

Love this song...we keep bees and it's on a loop in my brain..."count all the bees in the hive..."

The value of your book, probably, is little more than $45-$60. However, it is difficult to say exactly without the photos of the pages.
